Top 10 Marvel Legends of 2024

I thought about just going with the annual Top 15 Action Figures, but with such a large following, Marvel Legends did need a category of its own. So, without further ado, here is the Dan's ToyBox Top 10 Marvel Legends for 2024. Please note, this list is purely subjective because, well, it's my list! These are based on my reviews and preferences for the figures I collected this year. I hope you enjoy the countdown.

Honorable Mention

Venom: Let There Be Carnage; Carnage Action Figure

The amount of detail in this figure, coupled with the wild tendril accessories make this Carnage figure one of the better offerings of 2024. I get that he's ridiculously tall in the movie, but unfortunately, scaling him with traditional Marvel Legends looks a bit awkward.

10: X-Men '97 Nightcrawler

About the only complaint I had with this figure was the lack of a bendy tail. Other than that, this is one of the sharpest looking Legends this year. Hasbro has done an excellent job on the X-Men '97 wave and Nightcrawler is one of my favorites.

9) Jack O'Lantern

This is definitely one of those surprise figures that I didn't anticipate enjoying this much. As far as design goes, it's one of the simpler designs, which makes it all the more elegant. I just really dig the greens and the bright orange pumpkin head.

8) Warbird

Carol Danvers had the best costume design as Warbird. The elements of this figure, including the improved articulation for female figures are excellent. I wasn't able to find this Target exclusive on my own, but thankfully a good buddy of mine had one he was willing to part with.

7) Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men version)

This is probably the best Wolverine we've seen from Marvel Legends. I think I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed this figure when I opened it. The look, design, claws, masked and unmasked sculpts really make the comic character come alive. I am very pleased to have this in my collection and I feel like a lot of collectors are thinking the same way.

6) Angel

This is one of those figures that I happened to luck out on. I had it on pre-order and came across one at a GameStop. Given that I was able to save $5 and eliminate the cost of shipping was a no-brainer. The figure itself is solid, even though the wings do limit some articulation, the design is excellent.

5) Superior Spider-Man

When Doc Ock took over Peter Parker's body and set out to prove himself a "Superior" Spider-Man, he redesigned the classic Spidey costume. Hasbro took this look and ran with it. I'm not a huge fan of the waldoes because they aren't very sturdy, but the incredible detail of building reflections in his mask lenses is a touch that just blows me away each time I look at it.

4) Daredevil (Retro Spider-Man Two-Pack)

The cel shading alone does it for me. This is what Daredevil looks like in the comics and cartoons and Hasbro did it a lot of justice. I still cannot get over how awesome the shading is, especially with the cross hatching and feathering details. Granted he is only available in the two pack with Hydro-Man, but it's worth the purchase. I'm sure at some point Hasbro will release this as a single packed figure, and if they do, that's fine. I've got this one and I'm happy with it.

3) Venom (Walmart Exclusive)

Hasbro drops these store specific exclusives, which can make it difficult for collectors to land. Thankfully, I was able to get an order in and when Venom did finally arrive, I was thrilled. The scale is excellent and I'm really happy with how he looks in my display with not only my other Venom figures, but alongside Spider-Man as well.

2) Scarlet Spider

Hasbro really stepped up to the plate, giving Mafex a run for their money with this figure. I think giving this figure soft goods for the hoodie would have really hit a home run. While it lacks the versatility of articulation that Mafex has, the Marvel Legends Scarlet Spider stands toe to toe for appearance. Even with a sculpted hoodie, this figure is one of the sharpest looking and easily my favorite Legends Spider-Man release for 2024.

If you've read my Top 15 figures for 2024, you'll know my favorite Marvel Legend of the year. If you haven't... well, scroll down!!!

1) Ghost Rider (Danny Ketch) Deluxe version with Hellcycle

Danny Ketch rides into the top spot for Marvel Legends on my list this year. I never did get a Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider/Motorcycle combo so this was a must have. Even though I grew up with Blaze, I will admit that I always liked the Danny Ketch version better and thought his bike was absolutely sick. This figure/vehicle combo really does it for me and is, easily, my favorite Marvel Legend for 2024.
