Let's Discuss: Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Captivz Build and Battle Dinos

Once again, I am excited to give a big shout out of thanks to Rachael and Sheena from Playwise Partners. This time around, I'm getting a look at the Toymonster International: Build and Battle Dinosaurs based on the amazing Netflix Animated Series: Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. I am really digging these amazing little critters and the new Rumble Cage!

"Set six years after the events at Camp Cretaceous, members of "The Nublar Six" are struggling to find their footing off the islands, navigating a world now filled with dinosaurs and people who want to hurt them. Reunited in the wake of a tragedy, the group comes together only to find themselves on the run and catapulted into a global adventure to unravel a conspiracy that threatens dinosaur and humankind alike and finally learn the truth about what happened to one of their own." This series is the second Netflix animated program, serving as a direct sequel to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Headlined by Paul-Mikél Williams, Sean Giambrone, and Raini Rodriguez, the program premiered on May 24, 2024, with 10 episodes.

When I cracked open this box, I was impressed to find a number of Dinosaur eggs, six regular sized and one oversized egg. Additionally, I discovered the new Rumble Cage and two packages of Chaos Theory Dino Gummy Snacks. (My granddaughters inhaled those as soon as I could get them open!) I was also pleased to learn that the Build and Battle dino parts were in their own small bags and the dino slime was also packaged in its own bag as well. I cracked open my eggs and put together a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Parasaurolophus, a Suchomimus, a Pachyrhinosaurus and two Allosaurus. I have sung the praises of the detailed paint apps on the other dinos I've received previously and quite frankly; these new offerings are even better! The amount of color application is astonishing. The Parasaurolophus alone has an iridescent purple on its back, which almost shimmers under direct lighting. The detail on each of their faces, eyes, and mouths is simply incredible. As I recall, I had some paint issues with the previous dinos I'd received. This new series easily rectifies those concerns and, best of all, the silver Jurassic Park logo is once again, stamped onto each of the dinosaurs. Each of the six small dinos I received look even better than before and feature eye-popping color schemes which really make a nice impression when standing with the other dinosaurs I've previously reviewed. Honestly, my only concern is with the two Allosaurus. They have some issue balancing and I've had to pose them with their tails against the Rumble cage in order for them to stand and not tip over. Still, though, once standing they look really cool with the others in this set. When I cracked open the big egg, I discovered it contained the parts for an Anklyosaurus given the name: "Bumpy". These pieces had to be retrieved from the InGen Bioslime and the Prehistoric Sand containers. Thankfully, the blue slime actually game off fairly easy, but I did have to rinse the sand off of the head. "Bumpy" has a neat blue/green paint scheme on his upper plates and head, which turns into a lighter gray for the spikes and his tail club. Overall, I was pleased to snap this big guy together and in spite of being much larger than the other dinos, looks great on the shelf.

By far, the best surprise came in the form of the new Rumble Cage. This is based on the cage designs from the movies and has some really awesome features. One end is hinged to open, allowing you to place the huge T-Rex in the cage. There are multiple signs which can be swapped out on one side of the cage and there is a translucent insert, with a T-Rex silhouette along one side of the cage. What makes this so special though, is that by pushing the small red button on the side, the cage lights up and rumbles and shakes. There are sound effects to accompany the flashing lights which really make for an absolutely neat effect. The cage is molded in gray plastic and other than the red button, has no paint details. The Jurassic Park logo is sculpted on the cage door and is a nice touch as well. The T-Rex inside is even more impressive than the other dinosaurs in this set. The amount of painted detail on this is significantly more impressive than I expected. From the stripes on his back, to the eyes and mouth, this T-Rex is fearsome and bold looking. The sculpted detail is impressive enough on its own, what with the pebbled skin, claws, and teeth, but coupled with the incredible paint details really brings this T-Rex to life.

I really can't say enough about how much fun these are. My granddaughters and I had a blast playing with them together. Whether you are a fan of Jurassic Park, or dinosaurs in general, these make great shelf displays for any collector. If you have a child who loves dinosaurs, I highly recommend starting to collect these. You'll have a blast playing the Build and Battle games, all the while learning a bit about each of these impressive creatures.

Given that some of the QC issues I've discussed previously seem to be gradually disappearing, I'm thrilled to give the new Chaos Theory Captivz Build and Battle Dinosaurs along with the Rumble Cage a solid:

9.5 out of 10 ToyBoxes

I think this would have hit a solid 10, but for the issues getting the pair of Allosaurus to stand upright. That said, this wave is exceptional!!! Thank you for checking out our latest article and until next time... GEEK OUT!!!
